Dr. Coomber is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with special certification in orthopedic manual therapy (COMT) and corrective exercise (CES). He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University in 2010. He completed his affiliation training at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan where he worked in the outpatient and acute rehab departments.
After graduating, he began working in outpatient private practice where he discovered there was a need for improving quality of care in a patient focused setting. He has trained in the most advanced techniques in the field, which has resulted in a very high success rate in his patients reaching their therapeutic goals.
Dr. Coomber is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). This designation of distinction is given to Manual / Manipulative Physical Therapists around the world who have completed post-graduate specialization in the field of musculo-skeletal and neuro-muscular disorders. The technique used, the Maitland Approach, is a world-renowned, highly effective, gentle hands-on approach to the management of these conditions.
By utilizing this approach, Dr. Coomber believes most painful conditions can be cured non-surgically if the right assessments and treatments are provided. He is one of only 20 COMTs in the state of New Jersey.
Dr. Coomber has been recognized as a Top Doctor in New Jersey by Healthy Living Magazine on numerous occasions, most recently in 2013.
Dr. Coomber's personal interests include skiing, weight-lifting (fitness training), hiking and running (former collegiate track athlete).
